Council Meeting Recaps
At the May 21, 2026 meeting we presented 11 high school seniors with scholarships, certificates for youth civic leadership, two proclamations - building safety month and National public works week, and presentation on the new website.
We approved 9 consent agenda items: minutes from 4/16/26, two special event permits, three for Katz Field lighting, lease agreement, continue professional services agreement, and a change order.
We approved 3 regular agenda items: second reading for lighting within the Village, first reading for reasonable accommodations, and village manager’s annual review.
I reported on: Young At Heart, Rec Center fitness center, Striker Soccer, thanked all who participated in the citizen summit, congratulated all graduates, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Drowning Prevention, and proposed moving December meeting to first Thursday of the month going forward.
At the April 16, 2026 meeting we approved 10 consent agenda items: minutes from March 19, MOU with Solid Waste Authority, 4 special event permits, HR policies and procedures, force main bypass and relocation services, Builder’s Risk insurance policy, and new playground equipment at Commons Park.
We approved 6 regular agenda items: partially abandon tree easements at Lakeside Landing, site plan modification for landscape wall and tree replacement at Lakeside Landing, lighting withing the village, appointments to Village advisory boards – planning and zoning, recreation, and education.
I reported on: Big Business for Small Businesses event www.WomensChamber.biz, Career and Education Expo at South University www.southu.co/westpalmbeachopenhouse, all Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Stations are safe place for teens in crisis and are Safe Haven for all newborns, all are welcome on 9/11 to join Fire Chief Association whom are holding a unified 9/11 ceremony at 6P at the Wellington Amphitheater, and disappointment of residents for Village Council not doing a resolutions on rejecting Project Tango AI Data Center.

At the March 19 2026 meeting we began swearing in of council members and a reorganization. We followed by approving 4 consent agenda items: minutes from 2/19/26 meeting, purchase tractors, fiscal year report, and all access playground. We approved 4 regular agenda items: second reading of Village investment policy and purchasing guidelines, recreation center expansion, road resurfacing, and appointment to the pension plan board.
I reported on the Green Market on Saturdays from 9A-1P, strategic planning March 30, April 1, and 3. I asked for a resolution rejecting Project Tango.
